Our mission is to travel to South Africa in attempts to share the love our father has put into our hearts. We will work with orphans and Aids victims through a wonderful center called Ithemba. Here we will be able to connect with the kids and show them they have not been forgotten. We will spend our days playing with them and loving them just like Jesus has taught us too. We will also be working to film some of the devastation and poverty left from the Apartheid in South Africa, as well as the rising AIDS epidemic throughout Africa so that we can be the voice of a people who have been silenced for far too long.
If you would like to help us by donating from what God has blessed you with, click on the "donate" link under the video to the right of the page. From there you will find out the many ways you can help support our trip and the kids at Ithemba.
I thank all of you for your interest in this cause and I pray that God burdens your heart for the plight of these children of God.
In Him,
Michael Tyree

Poverty is a condition that affects millions of people all over the world. Poverty does not discriminate; it affects people regardless of age, sex, or beliefs. Poverty is a total void of the essentials needed to survive in life such as food, clean water, shelter, or proper medical care. Poverty helps people who are more fortunate to be more thankful for their blessings. It instills a sense of justice to want to help the poverty-stricken. Poverty exists in every corner of the world. Poverty can only be overcome by all people of the world making personal sacrifices and sharing their own resources to help the poverty-stricken. The love of God must be shared with these people so that they may be saved.
ReplyDeletePoverty is a major issue in the world today. Poverty is the state where one cannot afford even the most basic necessities of life such as food, water, shelter, clothing, and medical care. It is almost impossible to rise out of poverty on ones own strength, so the aid of more fortunate people is required to help ease their suffering. When those of us who are blessed with so much give back, and assist those with nothing, it is a perfect way to show God's love to them. Millions of people are affected by poverty, living on less than a dollar a day. This issue stagnates the global economy, increases wars and piracy, and helps breed deadly pandemics. All of these problems affect everyone, not just those subject to poverty, so it would best interest of the world to help them.
ReplyDeleteWell, Jesse and I decided that poverty was a lack of the necessities. However, we thought it was much more than all the physical needs. We believe that poverty is also the lack of emotional necessities as well. For example, lack of love, hope, and faith. We both agreed that poverty went much further than what the eye can see. We had a somewhat hard time answering the second part of the assignment. For me, poverty is so distant. I've lived such a sheltered life that poverty is still a statistic in my mind. For Jesse, he's had more experience and has seen the effects of poverty first hand. It's much more real to him than me and it leaves a greater impact on his feelings and thinking. I think that part of this trip will show all of us how real and vast this issue is.
